The British Dental Association (BDA) is reminding all new graduates who have recently been allocated to a dental foundation training post in England or Wales starting on 1 September this year, that they must apply before that date to be included on the national dental performers list.
Applications to the list can take up to three months to process, so if you haven't already started your application, the BDA encourages to do so now. Primary Care Support England (PCSE) Team or NHS Wales/Primary Care Support (NWSSP) and the Area Teams/Health Boards must have processed the paperwork and confirmed the inclusion by the end of November.
Foundation dentists can start work in September without confirmation they have been included on the list, but applications must have been received before 1 September and accepted and processed by the end of November, in order to continue working legally.
In recent years, there have been problems with FDs being asked to stop working on 1 December until their application has been processed. In order to avoid this situation, FDs should make their application as soon as possible.
